My Own Show

Set construction is now almost finished. The arch is up, and with a bit of wall paper to fill the gaps, the only thing left is painting and set decorating.

However, the list of painting and decorating is still a long list
- the red walls
- border wallpaper
- skirting board
- coving
- flooring.

Rehearsals are going well, with some great character development for all. Allan's autistic elements are really coming on.

We have pretty much all the props, although we still need to make the giant Dinky box, but we know what we will do.

Rosie, the Stage Manager and Adrian, prompt are also starting to turn up to rehearsals - its books down from next weekend!

What we need now are some fee paying members of the public to book tickets!! Come along!

My Own Show

Well the budget was agreed today by WBDS committee. Half the money is licence fee. It's amazing how expensive paint is to make it all look nice.

We will be at West Bridgford Summer Gathering on 15th May in Bridgford Park to promote the show, so if you are going, we will see you there. I think I have the offer of a table and gazebo. And yesterday I ordered the posters and flyers that we can use to decorate the stand.

I will put a notice out to recruit volunteers to man the stall but I am not expecting any trouble. Lets just hope for good weather.

My Own Show

My Own Show update

It may be over a month away, but now is the busy period for all the planning.

Today we have the photography at Full Fat Fotography. www.fullfatfotography.com

The sign is up on The Studio to advertise the show.

The This Is Your Life Book is ready.

We have sourced a Man and a Van to transport the settee to and from The Studio.

We have booked the Willow Tree for the after show party on the 22nd May. The Willow Tree.

We have contacted the entertainment manager at Larkhill to promote the show to the residents there - a life member recently moved there and told us they were keen on arranging theatre visits.

We have added 2 more listings, one in ArtNot which is distributed in bars, cafes etc in Nottingham, and qype, a listing website just starting in Nottingham. www.qype.co.uk

My Own Show - update

Set construction continues and we have also had a good production meeting.

The floor is starting to look good, and sourcing props is now well under way. In the picture you can see the first section of flooring and the rug for use during the show. The chairs are not the right ones yet. At the next Saturday set build we will finish all construction work, then its painting and set dressing.

Rehearsals are also continuing, and now that the holidays are over, all the cast are at rehearsals, so they are moving ahead quickly. Books down is only a few days away now and the prompt - Adrian - will be at rehearsals from next Thursday. So it is starting to come together.

Friday 9 April 2010

Production meeting is this Saturday at 5pm for My Own Show.

We have lots to get through, from props, lighting, sound and the final arrangements for the photography on Monday for all the publicity.

On the props side, we are still looking for dinky toys, especially boxed. However we do have a good looking red book for the This Is Your Life book that we need (a la Michael Aspel).

Set building is progressing, with the base coat for the floors done. I'll see if I can take some pictures this weekend and upload them, so people can see how its all progressing.

Thursday 8 April 2010
